Let’s just call this one “How NOT to display your kitchen on MLS when you are trying to sell your home”. Okay, I get it, you have kids, and every parent loves to display their kids artwork. But you are selling your home and its time to get into that mindset! Get the kids involved in the excitement, have them help you clear out the artwork and pack it away in a special box to be moved to the new house! Kitchen counters and sinks should be cleared – and I mean 100% cleared – of all clutter and items for the real estate photos. Make it look like a model home! These are the pictures that get a buyer into your home, not ones like above. But again, a good Realtor would have told them this, and would not have taken this terrible photo if they refused to clean up. I’ve been known to clean a client’s kitchen myself if I have to to get the shot!
