Allendale Terrace: Estate Homes in Historic St. Petersburg

One of my favorite neighborhoods in St. Petersburg is Allendale Terrace.  While most people flock to the Old Northeast Historic neighborhood, known for its beautiful old homes on cobblestone roads just blocks from the water, they forget about Allendale Terrace, a bit to the northeast with its giant oak trees and large estate homes.  Allendale Terrace also has many of those same charming cobblestone roads and old, beautiful historic homes but with much larger lots that the zero lot line feel of the Old Northeast.  Allendale Terrace is also noted for being on high ground as compared to neighborhoods like Snell Isle and Shore Acres, outside of a flood zone and is thought to be one of the finest non-waterfront neighborhoods in St. Petersburg.
