Sure if you give it away, right?! For a lot of homeowners it feels like even if you gave it away you still could not sell your home. If you have your house listed or are thinking of listing your house this is the prevailing feeling, especially in Tampa real estate market.
Well, I have good news for you – the Tampa real estate market is getting better. I just sold a house in less than a week and we did not have to give it away. We sold it for more than it was listed for – $2,000 more actually!
Selling your house quickly without giving it away is possible but there are 3 things that you need to do.
1. Find the Right Listing Agent. Speak with a qualified Real Estate professional who believes they can sell your home quickly and has what it takes to do so. Sure, agents get down about the market we are in too, so its important to find one that believes they can sell your home, and has a track record to prove it.
2. Price it HOT. Your agent should have the research to backup the price that will get your home sold – fast. Your home has to rise up among the weeds! If you can price your home to be the best value to buyers – for example, the best price per square foot in the neighborhood that is NOT a short sale and can close quickly – then you’ve got something there! Or perhaps the lowest priced home in the neighborhood but yours has a pool and the others do not – what a bargain!
3. Spruce it Up! Put away the family photos, make the inside rooms feel as spacious as possible by storing extra furniture and dad’s giant old chair! Take the magnets off the fridge, everything off your kitchen counter tops and bathroom sinks. Think model home. Plant some flowers out front and throw down a bag or two of new mulch. Give it some curb appeal and the buyers will be knocking down your door.
